Boca West is a private club community west of the city of Boca Raton, in unincorporated Palm Beach County, with entrances on Glades Road, Powerline Road, and Yamato Road. The Arvida Corporation planned it at about 1,400 acres, and the county’s records list the planned unit development at 1,436 acres. An early 1972 trade report described “Boca Raton West” as a total community built around four 18-hole championship courses, two of them already in play. Boca West Country Club still has four championship courses today, and since 1991 the club’s facilities have been owned by the membership and run by an elected board.
A community built around golf and tennis
Much of Boca West’s life revolves around the club, with golf, tennis, fitness, and social calendars that fill the winter season. Some residents live here year-round, and many spend the colder months here and the summer up north. That rhythm shapes what people need from a doctor: someone who keeps the full picture when you’re here, and stays reachable when you’re not.

Meet Dr. Divino D’Alessio
In a community laid out around four championship golf courses, it helps that the Boca Raton office’s physician comes from sports medicine. Dr. Divino D’Alessio, MD, CAQSM, is board-certified in family medicine, holds a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine, and has served as a team physician for NCAA Division I athletes at Coastal Carolina University. His clinical focus includes diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures, along with concussion care and return-to-play decisions.
He is one of the physicians AnswersMD founder Douglas Shapiro, DO, brought together to practice primary care that’s personal and unhurried.
For active adults
Golf and tennis can bring their share of sore elbows, stiff backs, and shoulders that ache after a long day. Having a primary care physician with sports medicine credentials means the same doctor who reviews your labs and medications can also evaluate those aches and decide what comes next.
What membership includes
The Boca Raton office cares for whole families and sees patients age 6 and up. Membership is built around access and time, which matters when the office is about 8 miles from home:
- Reach your physician directly by cell, phone or text, with the practice available to members 24/7. Many questions get answered without a trip down Glades Road.
- Same-day or next-day appointments for problems that shouldn’t wait.
- Visits that last as long as you need, made possible by a deliberately small patient panel.
- Video visits, so a summer up north doesn’t interrupt your care.
- A prevention and longevity plan, including executive physicals and advanced early-detection testing selected with your physician.
- Coordinated specialist care, whether the specialist is in Palm Beach County or near your other home.
House calls are available on a case-by-case basis.
Hospital visits and advocacy
If you’re ever admitted, your AnswersMD physician will, whenever possible, visit you in the hospital, talk with the doctors treating you, help watch over your care, and speak up for you. The hospital’s own team directs treatment. What your physician adds is your history, and a familiar doctor on your side.
Board-certified physicians only
Members see only board-certified physicians. Your appointment is with your physician, not a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
AnswersMD is an independent medical practice and is not affiliated with Boca West Country Club.
Visit before you decide
Before you commit to the drive down Glades Road, see the office for yourself. A complimentary meet & greet and office tour can be scheduled at 561-933-3333, where Allison, the practice’s AI phone assistant, takes calls, answers questions, and books visits. You can also learn more at AnswersMD.com.
